Devotee City

Since 1997, Zeta Omega has partnered with the Cebu City Government through the Department of Manpower Development and Placement (DMDP) in managing the Devotee City.

The Devotee City is a temporary housing initiative created by the Cebu City Government to accommodate (for free) out-of-city transients, who have lesser means to rent decent lodgings, during the yearly Sinulog Festival. Most of these visitors hale from towns outside Cebu City to join the religious festivity as well as sell candles, food, toys, trinkets, etc.

Zeta Omega partners with the rest of the APO-Cebu chapters to manpower the project. APO volunteers are in charge of operations: from registration to enforcing house rules and attending to visitor concerns.

Devotee City runs for three days straight with the volunteers alternating during day and night shifts.
