Scouting and Alpha Phi Omega
The worldwide scouting movement was founded in England in 1908 by Lord Baden-Powell followed shortly by the establishment of the Girls Scouts by Juliette Low in 1912. From its inception, both the Boy and Girl Scouting Movement shared similar ideals and delivered its strong philosophy in simple terms boys and girls can understand — the Scout Motto, the Scout Slogan, the Scout Oath and the Scout Law. Our founders, a majority of whom were former Scouts and Scoutmasters saw in the Scout Oath and Law the ideals with which to build a fraternal organization on – a standard of manhood that would withstand the test of time and a code of ideals created and accepted by some of the greatest leaders the world has ever known. Thus Alpha Phi Omega was born and its rapid growth can be attributed to the recognition by College administrators of APO’s potential in aiding the positive development of students through Scouting. Alpha Phi Omega desires to have a strong relationship with both the Boys Scouts and Girls Scouts Movement. Both APO USA and APO Philippines have established committees dedicated to cultivating good relationship and partnerships with the Scouting Movement.

The Alpha Phi Omega Toast Song
Here’s to Alpha Phi Omega, Loyal Brothers we.
True to Self and to each other, firm in loyalty.
Daily working, daily striving, ever more to be,
Men of Alpha Phi Omega, our Fraternity.
Brothers clasp the hands of Brothers, strong the circle we,
Ever mindful ever serving all humanity
Now we raise our grateful voices, in our song to thee
Men of Alpha Phi Omega, may we always be.
