25th National Biennal Convention
Posted by: APO Webteam on February 09, 2009
In behalf of the 25th NBC Chairperson, Sis Belle Tumbokon, 1970, Psi Chapter and APO Boracay Alumni Association, being the host, along with the members of the Convention committee, I am pleased to officially announce that the much awaited biennial event will be on May 28 to 31, 2009 at the ECOVILLAGE RESORT AND CONVENTION CENTER, in the beautiful island of Boracay, Malay, Aklan.
Venue
The venue is the newest first class hotel in Boracay and has a large convention hall for our plenary sessions and 8 function halls for smaller group discussions.
We have a guaranteed rental of all 15 rooms and 7 dormitories at the site. Further, APO Boracay has tied up with approximately 20 hotels, a number of lodging houses and even small houses, to be able to accommodate all members who will attend, even those who have meager
resources to spend during their stay. Discounts will be offered but only for members who have updated IDs.
Our point person for the Boracay accommodations is Sis Coselyn “Coting” Mallorca of APO Boracay. Her contact numbers are (0918)482-4758 and (036) 230-2374. Her email address is coting1925@yahoo.com.
Registration
Registration fee for official and regular delegates is set at P1,000.00. The amount includes the souvenir kits. Modes of transportation can be done thru air, sea and land.
How to get there
As of now, we have accredited two (2) travel agencies for airplane bookings to Kalibo and direct to Caticlan airports, namely PACER TRAVEL SERVICES, INC., PNA Building, 1663 F.T. Benitez street, Malate, Manila, telephone numbers 521-8884, 521-8880 and 525-3688. Look for Carol or Cecille. The other agency is ASIAWORLD VACATIONS, INC., UG
12, Cityland Shaw Tower, Shaw Blvd, Mandaluyong City, telephone numbers 631-7113 to 14 and 910-3004. For domestic travel look for Ellen, for international travel look for Jerome. It is expected that APO Phils. will receive a certain portion of their profit. We are still looking for an additional and reliable travel agency. If you know an agency, kindly refer it to me, along with the papers of the
agency, so we can review it for accreditation.
Further, we have coordinated with Negros Navigation regarding sea travel and they have agreed to give a certain discount to members with updated IDs. Pick up points will be the ports of Manila and Cagayan de Oro. However, the trip will be up to Iloilo port only but Negros
Navigation will provide buses that will bring you up to Caticlan.
Also, there are RORO buses that one can ride going to Caticlan. There are terminals at Cubao and Pasay. The RORO mode of travel is the cheapest so far, approximately P900 to P1100.
Teaser
Anytime, a teaser of the 25th NBC will be coming out in the You Tube. Aside from the initial teaser, there will be three (3) more informative videos that will be coming out in the weeks to come. Other details will be announced later.
