BROTHERS IN COAT OF ARMS
When we walk out from the halls of the academe in search of our destiny and fortunes, chances are we do not bother to visit or lest look back to give a glance to our dear Zeta Omega. De javu is what I feel emotions so powerful it makes you shout with happiness, when I saw and met brothers WENDELL CASTRO and ROLLEN BORRES. It is as if I was transported back to the period when we have to climb a mountain so secluded and secret in location that only those with perseverance to continue the legacy of APHIO trod the treacherous pass just to share the unwritten traditions of APHIO. I also remember when we had an overnight camping at the top of RIDGEDALE, where the stars in the sky are witnesses of what we envision to achieve in life. Either we remain a bum or a successful APHIO brother was the topic then.
In life we all take different paths some tow the line while the gutsy brothers blaze their trail. I’m so proud and honored to have brothers who tried and succeed like brother Wendell and Rollen. Their stories are so colorful like the shades of the rainbow it makes us awe in amazement. How I wish that I could also experience their success. But what is so striking is the spirit of APHIO remains in their heart, their love and loyalty to the chapter and APHIO burns like the immortal fire of Valhalla.
Brother Wendell and Rollen Borres exemplified APHIO virtues by visiting the chapter, painted the town red with the sisters and brothers and financed the renovation of the TAMBAYAN, a small token compared to the SERVICES brod Weng initiate in Dubai helping our OFW kababayans who are either jailed or abused. Wendell even busied his mind lobbying for the issuance of ENDORSEMENT to one of our pioneer sister who happens to be the CONSUL GENERAL in Pakistan.
To brother ROLLEN BORRES and WENDELL CASTRO, MABUHAY kayo brods! You are the epitome of unselfish and living monument of a true blue ZETA OMEGA BROTHER. KEEP THE TORCH BURNING.
