THINK AND WALK LIKE A TRUE BLUE ZETA OMEGA 
Sometimes in life we get to realize that what we started today may determine our future its a fact that we have to face and resolve. Our life is a metamorphosis and we have to be careful and selective of what we plan to achieve. We have to consider factors that may sound irrelevant but in reality this are the tip of the iceberg. We sometimes fail to see when we erudite from a distance.
Being a member of ALPHA PHI OMEGA specifically ZETA OMEGA CHAPTER is a privilege not all who joined the march completed the journey. Once we become a part of the organization we have to live by its principles of LEADERSHIP FRIENDSHIP SERVICE, our life our actions reflects the goals and objectives of APHIO. So many to mention but i know deep in our heart and mind its already ingrained.
The question is are we living, talking or exemplify in our daily life principles and tenets of APHIO?
Its a question that we can easily answer with a big AYE. But when we look closer and scrutinize the details cracks and defects reveal themselves. Maybe because we try to graft the tenets of APHIO to our personal whims. Thus reflections of our actuations are not in harmony or consonant with the principles of APHIO.
We belong to the few privileged not the last breed but simply the best APHIO member. We have to live and speak like a true blue ZETA OMEGA. We are gauged by what we do in life. Things we do and speak embodies who we are and our affiliations.
Zeal in achieving something is a plausible element in life and every endeavor but let us not walk in haste for sometimes we trample the most important principles in SCOUTING. That is TRUSTWORTHY, a word that transcend beyond relationships. Once tarnished it could no longer be restored. No matter how we forgive and forget the hairline crack of lie is always there ever present and bugging our psyche.
Lessons are sometimes hard when we deviate from the beam of light of the APO TORCH. Like in metamorphosis we undergo different stages in life and only those who dare wins be curious but always be guided by APHIO Principles.

The original concept of APO at UP Cebu way back in 1979 ( before it bacame Zeta Omega Chapter ), was to radically change the image of our organization, which at that time, like most other well meaning fraternities and sororities, resembled that of a typical gang, i.e. violence, drugs, alcohol, dropping out, tambay etc. nurtured by a dumb and dumber type of rationality. I came out of Gamma Pi in Baguio, been to Eta in Diliman during the “rumble era”, and have reflected on how the high ideals of the Scouting Movement could produce ( I make myself clear that I’m talking about a certain percentage, not the whole of APO) these kinds of members. I myself at some point was one of those out of sync with the ideals of scouting. However 1979 was a good time to awaken from our slumber and after the first batch, Simul’ Contrast, headed by Stanley Uriarte, took over the reins, the dream to make UP Cebu the catalyst of change and the center of the APO Cebu Council, where all the chapters, from Beta to Alpha Xi, could gather in a more wholesome atmosphere was born!! It wasn’t easy. Because of the radical direction that our chapter was taking many brods and sisters were in opposition. The second batch was the center of many heated and near violent arguments. We were questioned on the authenticity and the authority of our initiations. But certain good people were on our side. Bro. Jolier Tijones, Alpha Chi chapter “75″, Council president at that time, for one, and others like Ram Magno, Uly Maypa, Dodge Santillan, Vhantong, Inoy, Herr Jess… most of Alpha Xi and Alpha Mu members, even some of the members of the much feared “Golden Titans” batch of ‘75 from Alpha Chi, gave their support. But most of all KUDOS to Bro. Stanley Uriarte and his diplomacy. I left early in 1980, started my broadcasting career. Stanley stayed put and took over the helm. I give honor to this man. For what Zeta Omega is now is, to great extent, a result of Bro. Uriarte’s love for APO and our chapter. The dream is now a reality. More power to UP Cebu APO Zeta Omega Chapter!!!

To live APO might have been easy when we were once residents — when everything revolved around APO — but it’s also another thing when we get out of the university. We get jobs, meet new friends or start a family and somewhere along the way there this possibility that we forget the Pledge we made as pledges — to give unselfishly of our time and energy to APO.
A very introspective and very essential question for each member: Are we still living APO?
